Trendy Long Island Hotspot Opens Filled With Glitter, Glam and GAYS!

Calling all Sinners and Saints! The days of queer folk having no choice but to make tedious commutes into the city in search of a safe and sexy night out are coming to an end. Halo Bar, Lounge, and Nightclub celebrates its official opening in Oceanside, New York. Open seven days a week and featuring weekly drag performances, DJs, Bingo, trivias, and specialty themed events, Halo has ignited boldly as a beacon of light and hope for the LGBTQ+ community.

Housed in the location of a former gay bar, the walls of Halo create a sanctuary for individuals of any orientation, gender, or identity, where all can feel safe to express themselves, create, and most importantly, share love. As any fabulous gay bar should, Halo serves immaculate vibes from the second you emerge through the doors. From Insta-worthy LED moments and uniquely curated decor to the minute details of queer art immersed on the walls, the space at 3297R Long Beach Road, Oceanside has been revitalized to create a chic speakeasy type feel (with lots of hints of purple and gold!). “Halo was created for our community out of a combination of both absence and necessity,” shares Kyle Savage, co-owner of the club. “There is no other place on Long Island that is producing daily events specifically designed for the gay community. Every day customers come in with such gratitude and appreciation that we are here, and that’s how I know we’re giving them more than just an experience; we’re giving them a home, a second family.”

As the new kid on the block, Halo is fast and furiously building a pristine reputation for its themed events and dance parties featuring queer DJs, artists, designers, and drag performers. “Being part of the Halo family isn’t just fun, but it’s so important to me as a drag performer to be a part of a team that is trying to make sure that the Long Island LGBTQIA+ community has a place they can go to feel safe and also have the time of their lives” says drag queen Bella Noche.

It’s a great place for the community and allies to gather,” shares Nassau resident Jason Schaefer.

“We are happy to be here as the newest gay owned and operated bar, safe and inclusive for the community,” says co-owner Robert Lassegue, who boasts years of experience managing the famed Ice Palace in Cherry Grove.
