Queens Battle at DragCon L.A.

RuPaul’s annual DragCon returns to downtown Los Angeles this May and it promises to be the most outrageous weekend ever. The extravaganza will feature three sickening performance nights: Battle on the Runway, WORLD OF QUEENS and the first annual RuPaul’s DragCon Pageant.  Also, Latrice Royale and trans rapper Epiphany Mattel will debut their new single, #eXcusethebeauty, with a live performance.

The fun kicks-off Friday night, May 11, with a unique interactive experience, Battle on the Runway, hosted by Shangela.  Fans will have the opportunity to sashay around the massive runway, custom built through the center of the historic Belasco Theater  (1050 S. Hill Street, Los Angeles, CA 90015).   Then, they will watch a legendary battle of Looks versus Dance! as the entire cast of RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 10 takes the runway for an unforgettable show combining fashion with death drops and high-energy dance performances.

On Saturday night, May 12, WORLD OF QUEENS takes place at The Orpheum Theatre (842 South Broadway).   Fans will travel the globe with stops at the favorite countries of Acid Betty, Detox, Kim Chi, Kennedy Davenport, Latrice Royale, Violet Chachki and Valentina.

Then on Sunday, May 13, it’s the premiere of RuPaul’s DragCon PAGEANT at The Orpheum Theatre (842 South Broadway),hosted by Michelle Visage.  The show will feature the first eliminated queens from various seasons of RuPaul’s Drag Race, including Coco Montrese, Jaymes Mansfield, Naysha Lopez, Pandora Boxx, Porkchop, Tempest Dujour, Vanessa Mateo and Venus D’Lite. The ladies will display their charisma, uniqueness, nerve, and talent to earn votes from the crowd!

Nearly 15,000 people attended last year’s DragCon. Tens of thousands are expected to attend next month’s glitter-filled weekend.  For more information on all events, visit VossEvents.com.
