ADORE TAKES THE STAGE AT GRAMERCY With Opening Act Cary NoKey

ADORE DELANO WON THE HEARTS OF MILLIONS, CLAWING HER WAY TO THE TOP 3 ON THIS PAST SEASON’S “RUPAUL’S DRAG RACE.” NOW THE TEENAGE QUEEN OF WIGS ‘N’ CIGS IS PREPARING TO EMBARK ON A NATIONWIDE TOUR WITH HER BAND BEGINNING WITH A FULL CONCERT PERFORMANCE AT NEW YORK’S GRAMERCY THEATRE ON JUNE 13. SHE WILL PERFORM HITS FROM HER DEBUT FULL-LENGTH ALBUM, “TILL DEATH DO US PARTY,” INCLUDING THE SMASH
SINGLES “DTF” AND “I ADORE U.”

Opening for Adore will be Cary NoKey, the electro-dance group fronted by the Grammy Awardwinning producer who created Lady Gaga. Since launching his singing career, Rob Fusari – who now goes by the name 8 Bit – has undergone a complete transformation into a decadent pop rocker with a penchant for elaborate baubles and sparkly adornments.

We caught up with Adore Delano and 8 Bit to discuss their upcoming show at Gramercy.

ADORE DELANO

Congratulations on “Till Death Do Us Party” hitting # 1 on iTunes!
People are really embracing the album, and it’s fuckin’ cool!

Where were you when you learned the news?
I was in Chicago sitting on my bed in my hotel room ordering pizza.

Why do you think fans are loving “Till Death Do Us Party” so much?
I think it’s unexpected for a drag queen to come out with a solid pop album.

You became famous as Danny Noriega, but you’ve achieved superstar status as Adore Delano. Are you surprised?
No, I am not. I work my fuckin’ ass off. I was more shocked about becoming known as Danny because I didn’t really do anything besides sing on a show for 30 seconds a week.

Why does everyone adore Adore?
I’m adorable, no pun intended.

What do you have in store for your live show at Gramercy?
I just really want to bring the album alive and give the children what they need.

8 Bit, the man that discovered Lady Gaga, is opening for you.
After seeing and hearing his work, I was really excited to have him on board for the show.

He wrote “Paparazzi” and Destiny Child’s “Bootylicious.” Will he be writing any tracks for you?
You never know! I like to collaborate and be really involved with the writing process so that the songs tell the story I want to tell from my party brain.

Have you been in touch with Colton Meyer, your ex who inspired the song “I Adore U”?
Yes, I talk to Colton almost every day. He says he’s in love with the song and that he plays it three times a day.

Is there a chance you and he may give your relationship another try?
I don’t know, why are you asking me this?!

Just curious.
Not right now, because I’m so focused on my career, and that is what comes first at the moment.

What’s next for you?
World domination. I feel like I’m already being taken seriously as an artist, but I want to tour the world and get signed to a major label. I want to win a VMA, dammit! And a Grammy!

8 BIT

You’ve made an enormous transformation in the last year. What was it that inspired you to “B Who U R”?
Necessity is the mother of all invention, I guess. I wasn’t myself after finishing the Gaga project. I was losing myself and losing the music in me. I just didn’t feel like Rob Fusari anymore. I was suddenly comfortable expressing myself from a more feminine side, and I was no longer concerned with what anyone thought of me.

Adore Delano said that when she competed on “American Idol” as Danny Noriega, she never felt so “in” drag than when she was out of drag. Can you relate to that feeling?
Oh my God, for certain! I don’t know how I kept the 8 Bit inside of me all these years. It really feels like coming home when you find out who you are and allow that person to live. I read a quote somewhere that said, “The two most important days of one’s life are the day you are born and the day you realize why you were born.”

As someone who has worked with all the greats, how does Adore measure up?
I’m digging the whole feel of what Adore is doing. I just love when someone does something in their own unique way: without boundaries or limits. You can tell when
someone is really in it and when they are the real deal.

What can we expect from your performance at Gramercy?
The Cary NoKey show is always a spectacle. It’s a lot of energy, emotion and mayhem. The show has a true Rock energy to it with a heavy EDM foundation. We’ll perform our single “ B who U R” and a songI wrote called “Lisa” about the female alter egos I began developing at an early age.

It’s Pride month in NYC. Do you have a special pride message for your gay fans?
YES! B Who the fuck U R.
