Seventeen years old, beautiful and extremely talented, Zara Larsson, hailing from Stockholm , has just premiered her EP, “UNCOVER.” The viral Instagram of her wearing a condom on her leg, giving men the message that no one is too large for a rubber, has placed her on the map; however, “UNCOVER,” a song about people in love, but who are afraid to come out and show it in public, will lead this rising star to instant fame.
What was it like for you at age 10 winning such a prestigious talent contest?It was fun! I think it gave me a lot of opportunities and helped me meet the right people.
What is the story and motivation behind “UNCOVER”?
I didn’t write it, but it’s about love. About relationships between two people: They are in love but can’t express their feelings officially in public. I haven’t experienced it myself, but I can put myself in that situation.
Do you feel the music is different in Sweden than in the U.S., and if so how?
No, it’s not at all. Some of the best songwriters are from Sweden, and they are all writing for huge artists in the US.
What has been your own personal highlight of your career thus far?
I don’t know. I think it was when I got to open the whole Nobel Peace Prize concert.
Do you plan to tour in the U.S.?
Absolutely!
What is one thing that you would want me to know about you?
I think that anyone who follows me on social media knows me. I’m very honest and personal. You know me. And if I don’t share something, it’s because I don’t want people to know about it. So basically, you know me.
Where do you see yourself in 20 years?
Hopefully I have my own family. I feel that I’m on the right path in life. I’m still working with music, and I appreciate and I can live off it. I want to have traveled the world.
Do you believe in love at first sight?
Yes!
If you could trade places with someone …anyone, who would you choose and why?
Beyoncé! She’s a queen.
