The combination of glitter, glam and fame all collaborate and unite once a year at this annual spectacular DRAG extravaganza! The best in drag assemble from all over to compete for cash, prizes, titles and the glorious and treasured crown, a symbol of the highest accomplishment in larger-than-life entertainment at the Miss Gay Long Island Pageant.
Each year the pageant is hosted by the well-known and loved Ariel Sinclair, who has produced the pool show at the Ice Palace at Cherry Grove for the past 21 years. Music will be supplied by one of Long Island’s long-time musical geniuses, DJ Bryan Thomas. This year our very special guest judge is none other than talk show host Robin Byrd. The head judge is Big Apple Pageant owner Michael Perez aka the former Miss Long Island and Mrs. Fire Island, Monica Storm. Along with her is the beautiful and talented Josie; multi title winner and Ice Palace co-host Logan Hardcore; former Miss Long Island Erika Blaze; photographer, gay activist and drag supporter for many years, Ricardo Rodriguez; “Sex in the City” TV personality China; and drag supporter Frank Parisi.
The categories this year include Miss Campy, Miss Burlesque, Miss Newcomer, Miss Long Island Beauty, Entertainer of the Year and of course Miss Long Island. There will be special performances by the queens giving up their crowns from last year, including the reining Miss Long Island, Lady Ivana; Entertainer of the Year, Nikki Fierce; and the reining Miss Long Island Beauty, Violet Storm. In addition, special guests include New York City’s pop star Lovari; hit sensation Aaron Paul; and Bawdy’s Jesse Luttrell.
