From co-star with her family on “Braxton Family Values” to her own spin-off “Tamar & Vince,” Tamar Braxton definitely knows how to make herself stand out. She continues on her amazing path with her debut single “Love & War.” She talked to Get Out! about her debut single, her new album, and “RuPaul’s Drag Race”!
Tamar, thanks for taking the time to chat with me. How does it feel to be stepping into the spotlight on your own with your debut single “Love & War”? Amazing! So happy to finally have it out for the people to enjoy.
What’s the inspiration behind “Love And War”? It’s quite a lush production and simply gorgeous! Last season on “Tamar & Vince” we went through a whole lot. That song was the soundtrack to our relationship at the time.
What can you tell me about your debut album, which we will all get to hear this summer?
My album “Love & War” is relationship based. It’s all real stories about relationships.
You definitely stood out on your own on “Braxton Family Values,” which led to your spin off “Tamar & Vince.” What do you think it is about you that the viewers love so much?
I don’t know, I’m just myself. I’ve always been open and I definitely always have something to say. I think the people appreciate the truth.
The gay boys can’t seem to get enough Tamar, and one of the final queens on “RuPaul’s Drag Race” even impersonated you on the show! What do you think it is about you that makes the boys love you so much? I was so flattered when Roxxy Andrews impersonated me! I think the boys love me because we’re all on the same bus, I just get off one stop before! LOL #REALFISH
What’s next for Tamar Braxton?
My album is coming very soon. My new single and video for “The One.” Shooting “Tamar and Vince.” Another season of “Braxton Family Values.” And, oh yeah, a new baby!
