Shara Strand’s debut album Born Tonight yielded the smash hit “I Will Carry You”, a song that climbed to #23 on Billboard’s Dance Club chart. Now the pop princess is striking again with a new single, “RSVP”. Executive produced by Peter McLean of D1 Music with additional music production by Keith Kemper, “RSVP” is a fun, dance floor anthem that celebrates the animal nature of clubbers on the prowl.

What makes “RSVP” the perfect song for summer?
Summer equals party time, and “RSVP” is a party song!

Does the song carry special meaning for you?
I’ve always been the type who knows what she wants and goes for it. If I see a guy I want to talk to, I’ll start a conversation. As a matter of fact, some of my most significant relationships happened because I stepped up to the cute boy on the street and told him my name.

You don’t wait for the guy to make the first move?
No! If I know what I want, why not go for it? I have no fear.

What if the guy doesn’t reply to your affections?
Then I get crazy! If what I’m doing isn’t working, I try to shock the guy. Make him laugh. That’s my motto with life. When it gets intense, I try to have fun.

How does “RSVP” expand on Born Tonight?
Born Tonight was filled with beautiful live music and production, singer/songwriter type songs with deep meaning, and lots of powerful vocals. With “RSVP”, I wanted to let my hair down and release a powerhouse dance track. “RSVP” gives that happy dance break I think we all could use these days.

What did you learn from recording your first dance track?
I learned that with the right team behind me, I can do anything. I grew so much in the studio recording “RSVP”. I found my dancefloor voice. I can’t wait for the song to release to clubs. I hope to perform it at every hot club across the country!

Shara Strand performs her new single “RSVP” at Gay College Tuesday’s @ BPM Nightclub on August 26th hosted by Dougie Meyer and music by DJ Steve Sidewalk. RSVPis available now on iTunes.
