Ruben Roque, of Dominican background and living in NYC, has been a professional photographer for the past 12 years. During his first years in photography he worked for a local newspaper dedicated to shows, musicals and celebrity news. In 2006 he was the third runner up in an international photography contest sponsored by Rayataz: “Fight HIV Your Way.” For many years he worked as the head photographer for important clubs in New York City such as the legendary El Morocco, El Tropicana and Le Boy.

In 2013 he created Trayectoria, an annual event dedicated to the people who have made a difference in the community, in sports, business, entertainment, or just helping others in need. Part of the funds are donated to a good cause.

In April 2014 he received recognition by the Paparazzi Awards as an outstanding photographer of 2013. This year, as a way to celebrate summer, he is hosting Los Mejores Cuerpos del Verano (The Best Bodies of Summer), a project that recognizes people who choose a healthy lifestyle, going to the gym, practicing sport or just having healthy habits. This will be a photography exhibition open to the public on Sept. 11, 2014, from 8 p.m. to midnight at TeTe Club in Uptown Manhattan.

The models were chosen from hundreds of contestants picked by the foundation. They will be used to promote individuals making a difference in our community.

What: Los Mejores Cuerpos del Verano
When: Sept. 11, 2014, 8 p.m. to midnight
