Queen SirJET Breaks Free

Queen SirJET, the genre-blurring artist known for pushing boundaries and delivering raw, evocative lyricism, has set the stage for her next evolution in pop with the release of the music video for her electrifying single, “Release Me.” The track serves as the lead single from her latest EP, The Torture of Consent, a bold exploration of self-acceptance and liberation.

Directed by Brad Hammer, the “Release Me” music video is a visually stunning work of art that amplifies the song’s themes of emotional and physical release. The video features a striking cast, including dancers Judas King and Rico TV, along with adult film star Beau Butler, whose performances add to the video’s seductive and introspective energy. With a blend of bold fashion choices styled by Anthony Garza and dynamic choreography, the visuals heighten the song’s message of breaking free from internal constraints. “The costumes express the push and pull between feeling trapped and breaking free,” Queen SirJET explains.

The single itself is an electrifying anthem produced by Velvet Code, capturing the pulsating energy of Eurovision-inspired hits like Loreen’s “Euphoria.” Blending high-energy beats with deeply personal lyrics, “Release Me” offers listeners both a dancefloor-ready banger and an emotional journey. “’Release Me’ is about coming to terms with one’s feelings and releasing expectations,” Queen SirJET shares. “It’s about letting go of what you think your life is supposed to be and staying true to your ‘why.’ For me, that ‘why’ is fame and the dream of being remembered.”

Queen SirJET’s musical journey has been one of resilience and self-discovery. Growing up in suburban Chicago and Scottsdale, Arizona, she struggled with gender dysmorphia from a young age. It wasn’t until adulthood, after moving to Hollywood, that she fully embraced her identity. Her discography, spanning from her 2012 debut Shout-out to the Lonely to the critically acclaimed 2020 album Empowered Bottom, showcases her commitment to authenticity and emotional storytelling. The Torture of Consent marks her fourth collaboration with Velvet Code, continuing their successful partnership that began with “Male Femininity.”

Much like her previous work, Queen SirJET’s lyrics are deeply personal, touching on themes of loneliness, failure, and the struggle to connect with others. “They say write what you know, and I know a lot about feeling like things didn’t work out and how hard it is to connect with other people,” she admits. “But in order to let go of your pain, you have to put it into something—and that’s why I write about such gloomy things. It’s my way of letting go.”

Building upon the emotional themes found in “Male Femininity,” “Release Me” takes self-ownership to a new level. “This time, I’m taking responsibility for my decisions,” she explains. “In ‘Male Femininity,’ I was calling out others for letting me down. In ‘Release Me,’ I’m owning my part.”

While The Torture of Consent serves as a deeply personal reflection, Queen SirJET also continues to use her platform to advocate for LGBTQ+ rights and challenge anti-queer legislation. “It’s madness,” she says of the current political climate. “Why is a president attacking his own citizens? We all deserve to live authentically and freely.”

With The Torture of Consent and the release of “Release Me,” Queen SirJET solidifies her place as an artist unafraid to embrace vulnerability and defiance in equal measure. And for those wondering—yes, she made sure to include plenty of booty in the music video this time. “Fans told me I didn’t show enough in the last one!” she laughs.

Queen SirJET is here to stay, unapologetically owning her truth, and “Release Me” is proof that she is still chasing her ultimate dream—with fearless passion and undeniable style.
