PRESS RELEASE
NYC LGBT Nightlife Magazine Get Out! Launches ‘Straight’ Version, Expands to Boston, Philadelphia, Washington
NEW YORK, Oct. 21, 2014—Get Out! Magazine, New York City’s most celebrated and joyous LGBT nightlife and entertainment print and digital publication, today announces a massive expansion into new regions and coverage areas.
Today marks the birth of Get Out!’s brand-new sister publication: Get Out! Magazine – Straight. Get Out! Straight will be released in print and online beginning Nov. 11, 2014.
Launched in June 2009, Get Out! weekly magazine continues to provide a fresh voice in the gay, gay friendly and alternative New York City media. Shortly after its creation, Get Out! quickly grew to become one of the most popular outlets projecting the personality and culture of the LGBT nightlife, releasing a new issue each week in the clubs, bars and other LGBT venues of NYC, the boroughs, New Jersey, Long Island and Fire Island. With a print distribution of nearly 50,000 in the New York metropolitan area and an online presence reaching many more around the globe, Get Out! also recently expanded its print distribution to Boston, Philadelphia and Washington, D.C.
Besides the brightly colored, daring advertisements, all masterfully structured by Publisher Mike Todd and Production Manager Carlos Aguayo of renowned LGBT-owned and operated design and marketing firm Pulsar Studio, Get Out! comprises tantalizing, up-to-the-minute interviews with local nightlife personalities and celebrities, recently including A-list stars such as Annie Lennox (internationally known recording artist), icon Jennifer Hudson (recording artist and actress), LeAnn Rimes (country and pop recording star), O-Town (boy band recording artists), TruTv Impractical Jokers, Michelle Visage (“RuPaul’s Drag Race” judge), Bianca Del Rio (“Drag Race” winner), Sandra Bernhard (comedian and actress) and Ross Matthews (comedian and TV show host), as well as local talent, special promoters and event coordinators. Reviews of the latest music, books and DJs’ top hits are also embraced in each issue, as well as horoscopes and a nightlife directory. Pictures of top NYC and regional events are also included.
Following the same electrifying format, Get Out! Straight will allow straight-focused venues to have influence and representation in New York City’s throbbing nightlife. Once again, the hottest parties, most stimulating phenomena, avant garde receptions and intoxicating events will be advertised, broadcasted and featured all over the hot spots, bars and nightclubs throughout New York and surrounding areas in every single weekly issue of Get Out! Straight.
Publisher Mike Todd says: “Over the past five years, Get Out! magazine has been the voice of LGBT nightlife in New York City and the surrounding region. More recently, our expansion around the Northeast U.S. has enabled nightlife venues in Boston, Philadelphia and Washington to finally have a media outlet covering their fantastic and exciting scene. Now, with Get Out! Straight, we provide an all-new outlet opening up our proven and celebrated coverage to all the fantastic nightlife people and places around the region.”
The original Get Out! magazine will continue to be published focused on and committed to LGBT nightlife in the region, while the all-new Get Out! Straight will cover non-LGBT nightlife, venues and events.
Get Out! freely distributes thousands of copies of each weekly issue around the Northeast region and produces the magazine with love from the heart, soul and belief in the success of the publication. Carlos Aguayo of Pulsar Studio carefully and expertly executes Get Out!’s magnificent production and advertising. Advertisements or interviews can be swiftly orchestrated in less than 24 hours, as amazing events and opportunities sometimes suddenly arise.
