Mr. Man Celebrates Emmy Winners

In honor of the 73rd Primetime Emmy Awards taking place this Sunday, Mr. Man is counting down the male Emmy winners whose nude scenes in TV and film have received the most searches from its online members.  “The academy awarded these men for revealing their souls in their work.  We’re recognizing them for revealing their impressive bodies,” says Mr. Man’s Phil Henricks.

The list is a diverse one, including men of varying ages and ethnic backgrounds.  65-year-old Bryan Cranston makes the list at #10 for his nudity in Breaking Bad, a role that earned him four Lead Actor Emmys.  52-year-old Best Supporting Emmy winner Ben Mendelsohn nabs a spot on the list for his nude scenes on the Netflix family drama series Bloodline; and 53-year-old Mark Ruffalo breaks into the top 5 for his full-frontal scene in I Know This Much Is True, a role that earned him a Lead Actor Emmy.

Men of color feature prominently on the list.  They are Lead Actor Emmy winner Jharrel Jerome, who appears at #6 for his unexpected nudity in When They See Us.  Lead Actor Emmy winner Billy Porter lands at #2 with his gay sex scene on Pose and Supporting Actor Emmy winner Yahya Abdul-Mateen II tops the list at #1 with his jaw-dropping performance in Watchmen.

Interestingly, Mr. Man’s Top Ten Nude Emmy Winners also includes two men who first gained fame playing gay boyfriends on must-see TV.  Bobby Cannavale played Will Truman’s boyfriend Vince D’Angelo on NBC’s Will and Grace.  He would go on to win a Supporting Actor Emmy for his role in the HBO series Boardwalk Empire, for which Mr. Man honors his full-frontal nude scene.

Darren Criss is best known for his portrayal as the openly gay lead singer of the Dalton Academy Warblers and love interest of Kurt Hummel (Chris Colfer) on the Fox musical comedy-drama series Glee.  He would later win a Lead Actor Emmy for his portrayal of Andrew Cunanan in FX’s The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story, a series in which he appeared nude in multiple times.

Rounding out the winners are Supporting Actor Emmy winner Alexander Skarsgård for his nudity in Big Little Lies and Lead Actor Emmy winner Rami Malek, for his stripping nude for a prison guard scene in Mr. Robot.
