How does it feel to be kicking off one of the largest party weekends in NYC and at Club BPM with co-headliner Danny Verde?
It’s the most decadent, lascivious, mysterious, intriguing weekends of the year. There are some festivities that take place that I can’t partake in, but musically there are no limits! I’m pretty amped to be playing this particular weekend AND to be co-headlining with such an incredible DJ as Danny Verde. I’m embarrassed to admit but I heard Danny for the first time live about a month ago at BPM and was very impressed. And…to add to the deliciousness of it all, the sound system of BPM is utterly amazing!
Tell us what we should expect on Friday, March 21 from your set?
Considering the nature of the weekend I will go dark and sexy. But not too dark and not heavy. This isn’t the actual Black Party after all. The weekend should develop gradually.
Having gone through your own rebranding with much success, can we expect you back? Is there a residency here in the
works for MORABITO?
Ha! That’s unfortunately not entirely up to me. I would be thrilled of course! And yes, my rebranding has been extremely well received all over the country, and I’m particularly excited about the fantastic feedback I’ve been getting from a new generation that never even knew me before.
With all of your history and success, having played so many events and having a large, diverse worldwide following, what about the March 21 event to you is the most exciting?
This has always been one of my favorite weekends of the year. I have co-headlined Black Party twice, and for many years I produced and played an extremely successful afterhours event. So being Click’s choice along with Danny Verde for this particular date means a lot to me.
