Meet Abelardo also known as the dancer named Turco!

They say dance is the hidden language of the soul…especially if you’re a New York City nightlife dancer.

Turco, a/k/a Abelardo, engages everyone who sees him in a conspiracy of love. Not all gifts are tied in ribbons–some surprise us when they arrive, and watching Turco dance is one such gift. Turco has a dazzling flare and leaves a trailer of glitter that is never forgotten. Although he doesn’t plan to be a dancer for the rest of his life, right now he is having fun with it.

Hello, Turco. What inspired you to become a dancer in the New York nightlife?

It never crossed my mind to be a dancer, but the opportunity arose and I did it.

Do you have other talents or hobbies that you do when you are off from dancing?

When I’m not dancing, I like to be at home and play volleyball.

Do you plan to make dancing a forever career or is there something else on the horizon for you?

I have other plans in mind. Dancing is something temporary.

How many times do you go to the gym a week? Do you have a special regimen you do?

I train six days a week. I just try to eat well and take care of my health and body.

Tell us something about you that no one else knows?

I like to be alone, I don’t like to talk sometimes.

When and where can you be found working?

I work in different bars, when they reach out to me. I was recently booked at Friend’s Tavern,  Viva La Heights, Boxers, MB Bar Boutique, and Hush Bar, plus there are bookings in January that are being confirmed.

Do you have a New Year’s resolution?

I have things in mind, but time will tell and I have my desire to achieve it.
