Marti Gould Cummings Welcomes Broadway Star Eden Espinosa To The Not-So-Late Show

Each weekend at New World Stages in New York, Marti Gould Cummings sits down with nightlife glitterati, Tony Award Winning stage actors and fabulous celebrity guests for THE NOT-SO-LATE SHOW, his non-televised television talk show that he describes as Jimmy Fallon meets Carol Burnett meets Wendy Williams. “I’m the gay Oprah,” proclaims Marti, a downtown artist whose shtick is drag, but not the typical diva glam as seen in clubs and on TV.  His leans more towards androgyny; he sports beautiful dresses and heels while still looking very much like a man.  This Saturday, April 25th at 9:30pm, Marti Gould Cummings welcomes Broadway star Eden Espinosa to The Not-So-Late Show.  New World Stages is located at 340 W 50th St. Audience tickets are free.
“Eden is one of the most powerfully charged vocalists performing on today’s Broadway stage. We are thrilled to have her on our show,” says Cummings from his home in New York.
Eden Espinosa is most recognized for her portrayal of Elphaba in the Broadway production of “Wicked.”  Other Broadway accomplishments include “Brooklyn the Musical” and playing Maureen in the closing company of “Rent,” the final performance of which was filmed live for Sony Home Video.
She is also well recognized from her many television appearances on shows such as The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Good Morning America, The Today Show, Law and Order, and Ugly Betty. Voiceover credits include several episodes of Robot Chicken, MAD TV, and Titan Maximum.  Her debut music album, “Look Around”, is available now on iTunes.
This will be Eden Espinosa’s first appearance on THE NOT-SO-LATE SHOW.   “I am excited to get to the nitty gritty behind three of my favorite shows: Broadway’s Wicked, Brooklyn, and RENT,” continues Marti.
Previous show guests have been Perez Hilton, Tony nominees Charles Busch and Rory O’Malley, Broadway’s Julie Murney, and star of TV, film and stage, Cheyenne Jackson.
Following the format of tradition televised talk programs, THE NOT-SO-LATE SHOW includes non-celeb interview segments too.  One such segment, titled “Name That Meat”, featured a blindfolded Marti trying to guess the meat in his mouth. In “3 Workouts for the Everyday Lady on the Go”, Marti demonstrated his workout routine.
Marti finishes each show with an elaborate staged number.
Marti Gould Cummings grew up on a farm in Maryland.  He moved to New York City in 2005 to pursue his passion for musical theater but discovered an even bigger career in the city’s cabaret scene, where he hosts shows nearly every night of the week.
He’d love to find his way to the small screen.  “I’ve auditioned for RuPauls’ Drag Race every year and have not gotten cast – yet!”, he says with a wink.
