Kendra Erika is FIRE!
Powerhouse dance artist and longtime LGBTQ+ ally Kendra Erika is setting the world ablaze once again with her latest single, “Dance in the Fire.” Marking her debut release under Empire Distribution, the electrifying dance-pop track was crafted alongside two-time Grammy-nominated producer Luigie “LUGO” Gonzalez and 2024 Grammy-winning artist Will Gittens. Originally inspired by the recent Los Angeles fires, the song’s powerful message transcends its origins, delivering a universal call to embrace life’s challenges with unwavering strength and resilience.
“Whatever the circumstances in the world may be, it’s always important to take the survivor route,” Erika shares. “This song is meant to ignite a fire within everyone—helping them regain their strength and fight beautifully through their own individual battles.”

A fierce advocate for the LGBTQ+ community, Erika has performed at major Pride events and shares a deep connection with her audience. “There’s a mutual respect in that I’ve never bowed to industry constructs,” she explains. “I celebrate going against the grain, just as the LGBTQ+ community does. Passion, loyalty, and determination are qualities we recognize and celebrate in each other.”
Having collaborated with Luigie “LUGO” Gonzalez on multiple singles, Erika describes their creative synergy as effortless. “LUGO and I have worked together many times before, so it was like him saying, ‘Get in the car,’ and I just knew the destination would be incredible.” The addition of Will Gittens, who won the 2024 Grammy for his work on Chris Brown’s “Tell Me Whooo,” brought a distinctive, tribal energy to the track. “Will brought in that worldly element that was so necessary,” Erika reflects.
With a track record that includes five Billboard Top Ten dance hits and collaborations with industry heavyweights like Jason Derulo, Kendra Erika has cemented herself as a formidable force in the music industry. Her 2019 single “Self-Control,” a modern take on Laura Branigan’s 1984 classic, topped the Billboard Dance Club Songs chart, surpassing the original’s success and landing on the Year-End Top 30. Her hit “Body Language” climbed to #2 on the iTunes Chart and #3 on the UK Music Week Pop Charts, gained heavy iHeartRadio rotation, and amassed over 2 million YouTube views, earning multiple features on MTV’s Spankin’ New. Meanwhile, her sultry rendition of Frank Sinatra’s “Witchcraft,” produced with Ralph Johnson and Myron McKinley of Earth, Wind & Fire, won the Best Producer/Production Award at the Hollywood Independent Music Awards.

Most recently, her 2023 dance hit “Thriller Killer” garnered 1.2 million YouTube views, significant MTV airplay, and soared to #2 on the UK’s Music Week Commercial Pop Club Chart.
Now, backed by Empire Distribution—a label renowned for launching chart-topping artists—Erika is ready to set the industry on fire once again. “I’m so grateful to be part of a label that values artistic integrity,” she says. “Empire fosters independent spirit and creative liberty, which is so vital for artists.”
“‘Dance in the Fire’ is uplifting, unifying, and primal,” Erika sums up. “I want people to feel empowered to blaze their own trails and join me in dancing through life’s biggest flames.”
