With a handful of videos on YouTube, J Fala arrives in NYC to work on his musical venture. Hailing from Venezuela, he hopes to promote his work through song and dance in the NYC area and wherever else it takes him. His songs and videos have a unique, high spirited beat, with an exciting color, texture and flavor.
As J Fala was working on his new recording, “Mamacita”–due out in a few months– we chatted about his career and his music. J Fala has the whole package in more ways than one, and a promising career in the Latino music market. He is determined to make it in NYC, after learning English and then conquering whatever challenges the business has to offer.

Dembow, a Dominican genre that’s slang for Beat
What inspires the type of songs you sing ?
I like the genre because the songs are very upbeat, with very good energy.
What made you decide you wanted to be a singer?
Since I was a child, I have always liked music, and a couple of years ago, I made the decision to make music for my followers.
Where do you hope your career leads you, say, in five years?
To a stable life with lots of happiness.
Who are your influences?
Daddy Yankee, the Alpha, Romeo Santos.
Are you working on a specific project at the moment?
Yes, I’m recording my new theme song called “Mamasota,” and I hope to have it out very soon. Keep watching my social medias for the upcoming single release.
How does your country of origin influence your singing career?
I am Venezuelan. We classify ourselves as warrior fighters who go after our goals and dreams! It’s a happy country where we really like to sing, dance and enjoy good music, regardless of gender.
What do you do in your spare time when you’re not singing?
I enjoy dancing and physical activity in the gym. Those are very important to me–and my health and keeping in shape. I am a lover of nature and of traveling through different towns, getting to know their culture, food and music.
