Forget Family Dinner — Miami’s Biggest Party Weekend Is Calling

Let’s be honest about what Thanksgiving in New York actually looks like: a cramped train home, a relative asking when you’re going to settle down, and a four-day stretch of gray skies before you’re back at your desk. Meanwhile, a two-and-a-half-hour flight south, South Beach is warm, the ocean is actually swimmable, and URGE Miami Festival is about to turn Ocean Drive into the biggest circuit party of the year. If you’ve been debating whether this is the year you finally skip the family dinner for a flight to MIA, consider this your sign.

URGE returns November 27–30 with three daytime events and four nights of parties, building to the festival’s crown jewel: the legendary Beach Party, held right on the sand. This year’s edition isn’t just a repeat of years past. Organizers are unveiling a completely reimagined layout inspired by major festivals worldwide, with an expanded footprint, a stage rising 25 feet above the beach, and an elevated VIP section with an open bar and sweeping ocean views. Picture it: 2 PM on a Sunday, you’re in flip-flops with a drink in hand, and the only thing between you and the Atlantic is a dance floor packed with a few thousand of your closest strangers-turned-friends.

The lineup backs it up. Deanne headlines the Beach Party alongside a surprise international DJ/producer still under wraps, while the rest of the weekend brings Eliad Cohen, GSP, Cesar Hernandz, Isis Muretech, Jace M, Jerac, Joey with the Mustache, Junyo, Raul Mata, Robincal, and Sharon O’Love — plus two more surprise names organizers are saving for closer to the date. As producer Luis Morera puts it: “Our DJs are world-class, and they’ll give you plenty of reasons to stay on the dance floor. But ask anyone who’s been to URGE, and they’ll tell you the weekend is about so much more than the music. It’s the people, the energy, the laughs, the reunions, and the moments you never planned for that make everyone count down the days until they’re back again.”

“Our DJs are world-class,” says producer Luis Morera.

That’s really the pitch here, beyond the DJs and the beach: URGE has become the place where the entire East Coast gay scene reunites every Thanksgiving. The guy from your friend group chat who moved to Miami two years ago will be there. So will half the people you follow who went last year and haven’t stopped talking about it since. Between GUAPO’s opening night at M2 Miami, SWET’s pool party at Strawberry Moon, and WE “Heroes” Party running until 5 AM, there’s a version of the weekend for whatever kind of chaos you’re looking for — and Monday’s after-hours marathon, RAW, for those determined to squeeze out every last hour before a flight home.

URGE Miami Festival male dancers keep the party steamy.

Logistics are about as easy as this kind of trip gets. The official host hotels, The Clevelander and Essex House, both sit on Ocean Drive directly across from the beach, with rooms starting at $169 a night and walking distance to nearly every party on the schedule — meaning no surge-pricing rideshares at 4 AM. And unlike most holiday travel, this one gives back: a portion of proceeds benefits Miami Beach Pride.

Tickets are on sale now at UrgeMiamiFestival.com.
