Dreamland, the immersive LGBTQ+ festival that has attracted hundreds of thousands of revelers to its feats in New York City and Miami, will premiere at Asbury Park Pride on Friday May 31st. Presented by Jake Resnicow, Dreamland: Pride in Asbury Park will take place at Stone Pony Summer Stage and will feature a headlining performance by the Grammy Award-winning music sensation Purple Disco Machine.
Only 55 miles from New York City and about 77 miles from Philadelphia, Asbury Park is queer heaven on the Jersey Shore. It is known for its stunning ocean views, chic restaurants and hotels and queer-friendly shops and bars. The mile-long boardwalk is an ideal spot for people watching and leisurely strolls during the day, and, come evening, gay nightlife ranges from karaoke to drag shows. There’s something for everyone at Asbury Park, especially during the city’s Pride festivities.
“I’m absolutely thrilled to bring Dreamland to Pride in Asbury Park,” says producer Jake Resnicow. A premiere promoter in the LGBTQ+ space, Resnicow was recently honored as one of the OUT100 Most Influential LGBTQ People of the Year. His Pride Festivals in New York, Miami, Las Vegas and Los Angeles are spectacles, and he’s produced some of the most prestigious fundraiser events, raising over $30M for organizations including Life Ball, Trevor Project, The White Party Gala, Ali Forney Center, Lambda Legal and It Gets Better.
“Dreamland: Pride in Asbury Park is more than just a party,” he continues. “It will be a historic gathering that encapsulates everything Pride stands for: diversity, inclusivity, and unity. We’re creating a space where everyone is welcome, and every moment is
a step towards true acceptance. It’s a milestone for Asbury Park and for the Pride movement, and I couldn’t be more excited to share it with everyone.”
