After a whirlwind tour in Los Angeles where he performed Avalon Nightclub and caught up with friends Laverne Cox, Mila Jam and fellow Real Worlder Mike Manning, Nashville-based heart throb Davis Mallory comes to NYC to perform three area shows.
On Friday, he performs Rise Bar in Hell’s Kitchen. On Saturday night, he performs Kola House in Chelsea at 9pm and The Monster in the West Village at 11pm.
He’s here to promote his new album, “Loud”, releasing Friday. At all three shows, he will perform the album’s title track, an upbeat summer dance song about hooking up with someone you quietly desire.
The song is seductive R&B with sex-soaked lyrics and a funky, chilled, head-swinging vibe. Davis calls it his Marvin Gaye’s “Let’s Get It On”.
“It was inspired by a guy, another singer-songwriter, who I had a major crush on,” he explains. “At the time, I couldn’t figure out how he felt about me but he turned out to be straight. He has a girlfriend now.”
“I’m excited to perform my first live shows in New York City this weekend,” he said from his hotel in New York.
Davis starred on MTV’s Real World in 2006. He lived in New York from 2011-2013. This is his first time back since he moved to Nashville four years ago to focus on writing music and recording his album.
Two remixes of “Loud” have been released: the first by Los Angeles-based producer BPT and a second by Miami-based producer Landis, on Cedric Gervais’ Delecta Records. Davis will perform the BPT version at his shows.

Davis will happily sign cds, hats and tees at any of his shows. He performs two songs live at Rise Bar (859 9th Ave) at 11pm on Friday night. On Saturday night, he performs a 45-minute show at Kola House (408 W 15th St) at 9pm. Then at 11pm, he’ll be at The Monster to perform “Loud”.
