Clothes … Who Needs Them? – BY Shaun Melady

Right? Besides dancing around the apartment in my birthday suit, I usually need them or like to have them on at least.

To each their own though. You do you, boo!

Along this topic however, Fall Fashion has snuck up on us, and, of course, I feel the need to step up my game in the apparel department, especially here in the city with all of these stylish momos (how I refer to us homosexuals, in case you are just tuning in) strutting down the concrete runway of Hell’s Kitchen, West Village and Chelsea.

Work the runway, sweeties! (Mama Ru has taught me well.)

What makes me feel a little better about my style and choice of garb is that there was a fashion event happening in the Lower East Side during my brunching hours with my girls—one of which is my amazing friend who just moved up from Orlando. NYC is converting us Floridians. Great work!

Anyway, back on topic.

During this fine Sunday morning/early afternoon, we walked by this gala taking place and saw a plethora of outfits ranging from chic to, well, let’s just leave it at that. While we were passing by, a photographer from one of the publications noticed that I was wearing my go-to “Sorry for Partying” tank top and shades, standing next to these gorgeous friends of mine, and snapped our photo. Talk about a confidence boost, right? I was on cloud nine the rest of the day. First, because of this photographer noticing us out of all of these polished and invited guests. Second, the amount of mimosas and alcoholic beverages that we were drinking that day. Regardless, it was a great time and great vibes (cue my Florida heritage and beachy sayings).

What I’m taking away from this whole endeavor is that we create our own damn Fall Fashion. No matter who we are.

Own it. Rock it. Wear it.

We will set our own trail and wear blazers right through that in the gayest fashion that we can (all of the puns were intended).

But, if you get in the mood to go shopping, let your gaybor know (aka me) and we can hit the town and have the best avant-garde photo shoot in the whole city. Instagram will blow up with our photos.

Be ready!
