At Ridgefield Playhouse
On April 17, the fabulous Ridgefield Playhouse (80 East Ridge, Ridgefield, Conn.), will be featuring, singer and comedian Bridget Everett.
On top of some overwhelming and astonishing reviews from “The New York Times,” “The Wall Street Journal,” “The Hollywood Reporter” and many others, the show promises to be an explosive surge of talent.
Everett will be debuting in the Netflix series “Lady Dynamite” on May 20. She has also performed on “Inside Amy Schumer” on Comedy Central. Her band The Tender Moments includes Adam “Ad-Rock” Horovitz from the Beastie Boys. She has been appearing often in New York City for over a decade.
For more information on Everett’s performance, contact the Ridgefield Playhouse at (203) 438-5795 or go to ridgefieldplayhouse.org.
How long have you been doing comedy, and what inspired you to do it in the first place?
I’ve been singing my whole life, but added the comedy angle by accident probably 12 years ago. I happen to like telling stories, and I happen to love karaoke and wine. Comedy was the perfect way to blend the three.
What happens if no one laughs when you’re live?
Ha! I just keep going until they do!
Do you have a favorite comedian?
I have lots: Richard Pryor, Sam Kinison, Amy Schumer, Rachel Feinstein, Rory Scovel, Lisa Lampanelli. I could go on for a long time here!
What’s the funniest or most embarrassing thing that’s ever happened to you while performing?
Every once in a while, a family will come to one of my shows. My shows are wild, and having that to play around with is a win-win for everyone involved.
What is your favorite thing about performing live?
The audience! Every show is like a first date and is completely different based on who you’re talking to. It’s thrilling, and I can’t get enough.
Anything that you’d like to promote for yourself?
I’m going to be on the upcoming season of “Inside Amy Schumer” as well as the new Netflix series “Lady Dynamite.”
Is this your debut at the Playhouse?
Yes!
