Bill Coleman’s Love+Sexo Birthday
They say it’s better to give then to receive. For his birthday, Bill Coleman – head honcho of the hit music-making record label, Peace Bisquit – is giving clubbers exactly what they want. He is releasing LOVE + SEXO: A Peace Bisquit Compilation to the dance floor. It features new songs from Michelle Williams (of Destiny’s Child), Ultra Naté, Mya and the ever-soulful Angie Stone, among others.
Bill Coleman has a lot to celebrate this year. In addition to completing production of new beats with Jody Watley and Cazwell, he also DJed Chaka Khan’s sixtieth birthday Party, contributed remixes for Beyoncé, and provided custom playlists for Broadway’s smash show, “After Midnight”.
Join celebs including Ultra Nate, Amanda LePore and The Ones as they celebrate Bill Coleman’s birthday and the release of LOVE + SEXO: A Peace Bisquit Compilation at Marquee on Thursday, April 10.
First of all, happy birthday, Bill!
Thanks! At this age, I don’t take birthdays for granted.
You are celebrating in grand style at Marquee.
I generally don’t go all out every year, however, with the release of our LOVE + SEXO compilation, it made sense to extend the celebration to include a lot of people from the project. I’m very proud of the album.
Why is LOVE + SEXO so special to you?
It’s a culmination of my diverse career from music journalist (Billboard, Paper Magazine) to managing artists (Deee-lite, Cazwell), film music supervision (“Party Girl”, “Party Monster”), talent consultancy (Bette Midler, Rupaul), performance (Daisy Spurs, Dazzle Dancers), and production. Of course, my first love, DJing, brings it all together.
Who appears on the album?
It’s truly an eclectic mix ranging from Amanda Lepore, Mya, The Ones, JD Samson and Angie Stone. Also, Tony Moran, Neneh Cherry, The Ones, WAWA and MC Lyte. In addition, we are able to feature the provocative imagery of our favorite photographer, Marco Ovando. Hopefully, all of our audio schizophrenia will make sense to listeners.
What are you most looking forward to at Marquee?
After all of these years, I still get charged from DJing so any day I get to move the crowd is a good day. Fist pump!
How will you make this next year a special one?
By living each day with a sense of purpose and continuing to bring the noise and get things turnt up! Live. Love. Be.
