Bamboo 52 – Get Out! Magazine – NYC’s Gay Magazine

Bamboo 52

Bamboo 52, located in the heart of Hell’s Kitchen amongst the gays, their bars and the Theater District, with its nightly music, fabulous cocktails and delicious sushi (the only fish a gay man should eat!), is one fun spot. With nightly DJs and karaoke on Tuesday this hot spot will fill anyone’s desires.

If you’re thirsty, Bamboo’s happy hour starts at 11 a.m. through 9 p.m. Monday through Friday. It has signature cocktails, well drinks, house wine and beers that are two for one. Yes, it’s in New York City, and hold on, it gets better! Lunch is 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., and you can create two rolls for $9.95. Order a glass of sake and you’ll receive the second one along with dessert on the house at lunch. Bamboo has a latenight sushi happy hour after midnight along with sake bombs and margaritas for $5 all night. Pop in on Tuesdays for karaoke, eat and enjoy a cocktail, and if you get up and sing Bamboo will give you a free cocktail.

Having had sangria once or twice, I reached past the norm and tried Bamboo’s sake sangria, a house favorite that is tasteful and goes down smooth. The twist on it gives new life to the meaning of Sangria. On certain nights Bamboo offers mojitos and flavored Absolut cocktails for just $5 all night. On Sundays, a wine and cheese tasting class is hosted from 5-7 p.m. Talk about changing it up, this is sushi with a twist!

Being a native New Yorker and a lover of sushi, I have to say, WOW, what a place! It’s very social, a lot of fun along with great deals. Who knew … well, now we all do! This is a must try.
