ASHLEE & EVAN LIVE ON STAGE

BY Dustin Fitzharris

Ashlee Simpson and Evan Ross will ring in 2019 by spreading love across the country. On January 7, the couple will launch their first tour together at the Bowery Ballroom in New York City. The eight-city tour throughout January coincides with Ashlee and Evan’s debut EP that was released in the fall and featured the hit song “I Do.”

For fans who watched the process of making music together for the first time on the E! docu-series “Ashlee + Evan,” the intimate concerts are a chance to see the next chapter in their lives unfold.

“It’s so cool performing together for the first time in front of an audience,” Ashlee said. “We’re having so much fun, and now that the music is out there it just feels so good.”

The tour marks a return to the stage for Ashlee. Following successful tours for her smash albums “Autobiography” and “I Am Me,” Ashlee set her sights on theater. In 2009 she made her Broadway debut in Chicago playing Roxie Hart.

Evan, who is currently exciting audiences on Fox’s hit series “Star,” launched his career in the feature film “ATL.” The roles kept coming. He also starred in the films “Pride,” “Life Support,” “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay” Part 1 & Part 2, and the television biopic “CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story.” The tour will be a new experience for Evan, but one he’s anticipating.

“I love to perform. I’m so comfortable on stage. Being up there with Ashlee makes it even more incredible,” Evan said. “It’s like we’re throwing a party and you’re all invited.”

Ashlee and Evan walk into 2019 basking in the glow of celebrating a remarkable year. From winning hearts on television to delighting new and old fans with music to becoming trendsetters in the fashion world with their own unisex clothing line, Ashlee and Evan are truly one of the entertainment industry’s “it” couples.

But make no mistake, Ashlee and Evan said what matters most to them is love and family. They promise that in addition to their music that fuses together pop, funk and soul, the tour will be filled with a whole lot of happiness and love.

“We have something to share. Right now there’s not a lot of people talking about love. I grew up in a time when love was in the forefront,” Evan said. “It’s still possible to live life, enjoy life and raise a family.”
