Alegria SUNRISE

If you haven’t quite gotten your full Alegria fix following Pride’s amazing Circus event late last month, good news!  You can now experience the world-renowned vibe at Ric Sena’s new daytime rooftop party Sunrise at Hudson Terrace in Hell’s Kitchen on Sunday morning, July 19.

Beginning at 5:30 a.m. and spanning all afternoon (doors close at 4 p.m.), Sena is throwing the second in a series of monthly summertime events, this time featuring Mexican DJ Nacho Chapado and hometown hero Eddie Elias (the latter of whom is returning as resident DJ following his Sunrise debut way back in 2001 at Sound Factory, marking his 14th year of working with the man who gave him his very first break in the business).

Sena is single-handedly redefining the “after-hours” concept by introducing a “roofless” dance party that embraces both daytime and all of nature’s elements. A lower enclosed floor will also be open for dancing and drinks, and the rooftop is retractable, just in case Mother Nature doesn’t cooperate.

“I don’t think after-hours should be synonymous with small, dark venues,”  Sena says. “It’s time to party during the day like we party at night. And that’s why I say, ‘New York City has a new SUNRISE!’”

Even better, the venue is located just a couple blocks over from Viva at Stage 48, the insanely popular Saturday night dance party Sena throws along with fellow nightlife legend John Blair and his partner Beto Sutter.  The perfect double-header, for those so inclined.

Stephen Wyker will be providing lighting ambience.  Door tickets are $50 until 7 a.m. and $60 after.  Visit AlegriaEvents.com for tickets and more information.
