A Very Courtney Christmas

There is no walking in a Winter Wonderland when you spend Christmas in Australia. December 25 is the middle of summertime there, after all! In “Twas The G’Day B4 Xmas,” RuPaul’s Drag Race runner-up Courtney Act regales audiences with festive songs and stories about dreaming of a white Christmas down under. Grab your mate and gather ‘round Courtney’s Christmas bush for an evening of live music, special guests and a whole lot of outback holiday cheer.
What do you do when the weather outside is frightful?
I hate the cold! In a past life I must have been a homeless person who froze to death.

You’re spending December in New York and London this year.
I don’t know what do! I may have to become a shut in.

Was the weather ever a concern down under?
I lived in Queensland, which is very tropical. One year we enjoyed brilliant electrical storms on Christmas. It was a wonderful Christmas lights display!

How is Christmas celebrated in Australia?
Christmas is in summer, so we head out and lay by the Christmas tree on North Bondi Beach.

Do kids leave cookies and milk for Santa?
Being the son of a naturopath, we would leave carrot sticks and low fat soy milk because mom said it was better for Santa’s waistline.

Will you leave anything for him this year?
Willam, Alaska and I just recorded a new holiday song, “Dear Santa, Bring Me A Man,” so maybe I’ll leave a digital copy for him in his digital stocking.

Is it better to give or to receive?
I see what you’re getting at.

Do you re-gift?
Sure, I re-gift. I care about the environment.

Will you be exchanging with Adore Delano, Bianca Del Rio and Willam?
Hmmm…maybe.

What will you get them?
A brain, a heart and courage. I’m like the Wizard of Oz! Although, I don’t think Willam really needs courage.

Who do you hope to find under the mistletoe?
My celebrity crush has always been James Franco, but I just read Russell Brand’s new book, and he is totally at the top of my list now.
