First launched in 1985 as a small gathering in Washington, D.C., the Centaur Motorcycle Club’s Mid-Atlantic Leather (MAL) Weekend, has evolved into one of the most anticipated annual events for the global leather and fetish community. Now marking its 40th anniversary, MAL continues to draw thousands of attendees from around the world to celebrate leather culture, foster connections within the fetish community, and support vital philanthropic causes. In 2024 alone, the event raised over $90,000 for local and national LGBTQIA+ nonprofit organizations, solidifying its reputation as a philanthropic powerhouse.
This year, MAL Weekend runs from Thursday, January 9, through Sunday, January 12, 2025, and once again partners with KINETIC Presents to deliver a series of unforgettable dance parties. Created by LGBTQ+ producers and designed to benefit the community, these events promise an exceptional mix of performances, cutting-edge production, and exciting new features.
Dougie Meyer, co-producer of KINETIC Presents, expressed his enthusiasm for this year’s lineup: “We’re absolutely thrilled to announce the incredible drag artist Gigi Goode as the headliner for Saturday’s main event. This year’s MAL Weekend also introduces an exciting lineup of new DJs to the KINETIC family, including Erik Vilar, Eliad Cohen, Boomer Banks, Sam Blacky, and Paulo.”
The weekend kicks off on Thursday with BOOTCAMP, the official opening party at an all-new venue. Featuring DJs Onyx, Alex Lo, and international superstar Dan Slater, BOOTCAMP will set the tone for the weekend with its high-energy atmosphere and a play zone.
Saturday’s centerpiece event, PERVERT, is hosted in collaboration with the renowned Matinée Group. Making its D.C. debut, PERVERT takes place in a brand-new, multi-level warehouse in Northeast D.C. and features a headline performance by Gigi Goode. Attendees can also enjoy sets from DJs Erik Vilar, Eliad Cohen, and Paulo, along with immersive stage designs, cutting-edge production, and play zones. Co-producer Zach Renovátes promises, “This year, we’re bringing you the hottest adult performers and a venue that will deliver the wildest MAL main event yet.”
The festivities conclude on Sunday with LUST, an erotically charged closing party at Culture, one of D.C.’s most buzzed-about new venues. Grammy-nominated DJ Abel and Los Angeles-based DJ Sam Blacky will provide sultry beats, complemented by mesmerizing performances from top adult entertainers.
