After speaking with On Mekahel, an Israeli designer and model, I wasn’t sure if I wanted to buy his underwear or write a book about him and his ex-boyfriend. I absolutely loved him and his entire attitude.

Having modeled all kinds and brands of underwear all over the world, Mekahel decided that he could do it better, so he and his ex-boyfriend opened up M.O. Underwear. Now they are becoming more and more successful every day, with the prospect looming of a television series built around the making of underwear and  delving into the dramatic lives of him and his ex-lover.

What makes your underwear different than other underwear?
Basically I started the branch a year ago. I did it with my ex-boyfriend when he broke up with me. I wanted to create something different, because I was a model for underwear for so many brands, in Israel, New York and in Europe. I just thought I could do it better. I wanted to make a brand for guys, like Victoria’s Secret is for girls—like regular underwear, but something different. So we just made something for guys and girls, but basically the color and material for the girls is the same as the guys. It’s basically all together.

How do you fit underwear for men? I mean, obviously being a size queen, I know that men are a lot of different sizes?
I designed everything, and every style I design I try on myself or on my friends, on everybody: on my family, on my brothers, on everyone. This specific thing I’m working on with my ex-boyfriend, because we’re working together, we make sure it’s very comfortable. We want to make sure that everything is perfect.

What kind of success are you hoping for? Where and how do you intend to market your product?
At the moment we show online, and in a month or two we are going to open a flagship store in New York. From there we are going to have a cosmetic line also. We will make creams and body sprays and things like that. It will be for guys and girls. It’s going to be cool. We’ve been in so many magazines like “Vogue” and “Nylon,” so we just hope to continue that. In New York we have shirtless bartenders wearing my underwear and things like that. We are working with a production company, and hopefully we are going to get a TV series. All of our customers and people working with us will be there. We will show everything from start to finish, how it’s manufactured, and our personal life as well, with my ex-boyfriend after we broke up.

So, wait a minute, your partner in this endeavor is your ex-boyfriend?
Because I’m a nice person.

Is he cute at least?
We started the company two months before he decided to break up with me. I didn’t know if I wanted to do it by myself, because I liked the idea of us doing it together, so I decided to just to be his friend. We weren’t good personally together, but we are good as business partners. So it’s cool. There’s a lot of drama all the time. I already met someone new.

Wait, this is a reality show.
