Kashi Go’Lean

Never a disappointment when you are in the mood for humor, this queen brings it when it comes to laughter, joy or the essence of fun when it comes to drag. Now Kashi Go’Lean has widened her horizon and is about to release a new musical parody.

Willing to journey the four hours from her home in Albany to take part in New York City nightlife as well as the Fire Island/Long Island scene, she has become familiar to many and is making a name for herself in a big way.

Get Out! caught up with Kashi to discuss several new ventures she is embarking on.

Tell the Get Out! readers how we discovered each other.
I met you when I competed at the Miss Long Island Pageant and won the Campy category the first time in 2013. It was love at first sight! You have been such a blessing!

How many titles do you presently hold?
I have won nine titles total; however, I am currently the reigning Miss Campy Long Island and Miss Get Out! Magazine’s Celebrity Impersonator.

What is your drag specialty?
Best of Craigslist! Haha, kidding. I love poking fun at controversial topics in my performances. I have a strict philosophy that I live by: “No one is safe.” I also am well known for my parodies. I am a songwriter. I also love doing character drag.

Tell me about your new projects.
I have been working really hard on my music. I have three different projects with music. I have a music video parody being filmed and released soon with the amazing and filthy Isis Vermouth. We have parodied the song “I Am Body Beautiful” from the movie “Too Wong Foo” and titled it “Body Bountiful.” I am also working on a new five-song EP of original music. A lot of history in the making. I am truly blessed!

What are the Trans Fat?
A dear plus-sized friend of mine, Luci Furr-Matrix, and I have joined together to write an EP of parodies. We are calling our vocal duo Trans Fat. We have our first collaboration finished. Our music video together called “Calories” is being released on December 10.

What’s next for Kashi Go’Lean in 2016 and beyond?Reinforced chairs for sitting, haha! On a serious note, I am hoping to keep busy building my own empire. I really am taking my drag career very seriously, without taking life too seriously. I will be residing in New York very soon, and then there’s no stopping from there! I want to see the world and share my art with everyone.

If we wanted to listen to your songs, hear your videos and sample your own very unique brand of comedy, how would we go about doing that?
