Jeffrey Wachmann | From Buffboy to Author, Introducing ‘Braverman’

Anyone who is familiar with the Buff Boyz, and that’s nearly everyone, knows the owner and hot boy himself, Jeffrey Wachman. But what you might not know is he has just proudly announced the launch of his brand new manuscript, “Braverman.”

I was able to speak with Jeff and get some insight as to what the book is about, and I was overwhelmed as to its content. Please join Jeffrey on February 8 for his official launch party. For details, check out his Facebook page.

This is a great surprise to me, that you have written a book. What is it about, and why did you write it?
I announced today that we released the book. I wrote the book because I went to prison in 2006. I went to prison because I was a big drug dealer. I went to prison on conspiracy charges and possession charges. So I was in prison for one charge, and while I was in prison I was extradited to another state, and I did time for multiple charges consecutively. When I was in prison, my mother passed away, and she was my whole world. One of the reasons for me getting involved in the game was because I grew up really poor. I had the shittiest hand-me-downs, and my parents would fight all the time about not having money, and my dad was really sick, and I had an emotionally disturbed brother. There was seven of us living in a one-and-a-half-bedroom apartment in Brooklyn. As soon as I figured out how to make money, I did it. Basically I started it at a really early age; I started when I was 13. Having started at such an early age, it became something I never could have imagined. I lost sight of why I even got into it, a game like that. The kind of money I was making made me very aggressive. It made me want more and more. A lot of violence came into play. I was a big drug dealer.

I never would have guessed.
Well, I’m a totally different person now. The book that I wrote is called “Braverman.” It’s going to be a series of novels by me. The character in the book is created to be me. Instead of me writing a written confession in prison, I wrote a novel, which is semi-autobiographical, so it’s based on my life. It’s called “Braverman” novels because that’s the name of the character that plays me.

I didn’t realize that you could write.
Someone co-wrote the book with me, but the way it works is, we sat down and wrote a timeline, how we are going to start, and how we were going to finish. I wrote a story about that chapter in the timeline, and he added the touch, the taste, the smell. Nothing was stored in the chapter until I gave my approval. I wrote the whole book, he just added what makes a book descriptive.

How many books are in the series?
Part one ends with the promise from me to change my life. People will be waiting for part two, because they don’t know me. The last thing I write about in the book is me coming home from prison with a promise to change my life. Part two is the story of now. This book was written and finished almost two years ago. It only tells the story until I’m 30, and now I’m 35, so by the time we write part two, about my life now, another two years will have passed.

Are you still married to Matthew?
Yes, and I can’t wait to write about it.

Where can one buy the book?

It can be bought on Amazon and barnesandnoble.com. Whereever books are sold, you can buy it.
